Day 3

Second moonpass at Curacao

During our trip to the westpoint of Curacao one of the members forgot his sunglasses, so we bought one in a small souvenir shop. However when operating the station (outside near the pool) we figured out that the second operator (the one with the new sunglasses) surprisingly saw the shorthand messages (RO and 73) much better then the main operator.
Today we will do the 35 miles trip again to get two more of those called SMglasses (shortmessage). We expect about 3 db more deep search on the screen for all operators on our next moonpass.
Yesterday on our second moonpass we did add 62 inits for a total of 142 inits, several 1 and 2 yagis stations made into the log.
Once we found the moon visual we noticed we where 10 degrees off. Now we know and we will be there at 12 degrees elevation 2130 UTC freq 144114 PJ2/PE1L first. We stay qrv at least till EU moonset.
As we have worked most JA we decided to make a timeslot for that part off the word as we want to take some sleep during our night.
April 17th we will be qrv on our moonset from 0630
VK/ZL/ZS/LU/PY stations: if you have a request pse send us a direct mail.
The log is up to date and we did add some pictures.
